The Weekend Cozy-Up: Snow Day Vibes ☃

Hi Reader,

Did you grow up with the excitement of having Snow Days? Here in Ontario, Canada we're pretty much guaranteed to have school cancelled at least once every winter.

Now as an adult, I still look forward to snow days, even though they don't mean I get the day off of work. I love how bright the day after a big snowfall can be, with the sun reflecting off the giant piles of snow. And it’s the perfect excuse to get cozy—eventually.

Today was a real snow day—the kind that starts with three hours of shovelling before I could even think about being comfortable. By the time I finally came inside, I was exhausted, sore, and completely ready to embrace all the warm, comforting things.

So, that's what I did. First, a steaming mug of spiced hot chocolate, then a quick cuddle with my cats before settling on the couch with my laptop and a soft heated blanket. A well-earned reward for my icy workout!

If you didn’t get snow this week, you can still bring that snow-day coziness into your weekend. Here are a few simple ways:

Make a cozy warm drink – A mug of spiced hot chocolate, chai tea, or hot coffee.

🍪 Bake something delicious - Cookies, cobblers, and mug cakes are all good options.

📖 Curl up with a book – Here are some cozy winter reads to get lost in.

🌱 Dream about your garden – Plan what you’ll grow this spring, flip through seed catalogues, or sketch a little garden layout.

🎬 Watch a feel-good movie – Nostalgic old films, comforting romcoms, childhood favourites (I've been rewatching the entire Harry Potter film series!). Be sure to grab a blanket and snacks, too!

Stay warm.
