🥣 A new cozy soup recipe to make this weekend

Hi Reader,

It’s been such a grey and chilly week here, and I’ve been craving a warm bowl of soup.

This chicken pot pie soup is one of my favourite things to make at this time of year. It's simple, cozy, and if I use a rotisserie chicken and frozen vegetables, there's very little prep work to do.

If you've got leftover turkey from Thanksgiving this past week, you can absolutely make turkey pot pie soup with the same recipe. Just substitute the turkey for the chicken.

I love serving this soup with a warm biscuit on the side or a crusty piece of bread. (I'll be sharing my mom's biscuit recipe in the new year, so stay tuned!)

Is this soup something you'd make at home? Hit reply and let me know!

A hand holding a crisp plain potato chip topped with a piece of smoked salmon, a dollop of creme fraiche, and a fresh chive.

Hi Reader, As we get ready to welcome the new year, I wanted to share two easy little treats you can make for New Year’s Eve. The sparkling cranberry punch is festive, refreshing, and alcohol-free. You can make most of it ahead of time, just wait to add the ginger ale until you’re ready to serve. And the potato chip canapés are one of my favourite low-effort appetizers: crisp, salty chips topped with smoked salmon, a little creaminess, and fresh herbs. I imagine they’d be good with champagne,...

A loaf of Trinidadian sweet bread on a cooling rack.

Hi Reader, This week I'm sharing a few of my favourite Trinidadian holiday recipes, plus a tip I just learned about that lets you tell Google which websites to show in your search results (see below). Coconut Sweet Bread This Trinidad sweet bread is studded with candied cherries, mixed peel, raisins and currants. SEE THE RECIPE Cassava Pone Cassava pone is a sweet, dense baked dessert made with grated cassava and grated coconut. SEE THE RECIPE Sorrel Drink Sorrel is a tangy, cold beverage...

A clear glass of frothy eggless eggnog on a fancy coaster.

Hi Reader, My idea of a little treat is a cozy, warm drink. Usually, it's tea that gets me through the workday, but now that I'm taking some time off (FINALLY!), all I want are warm holiday beverages. This week I’m sharing two of my go-to holiday drinks:eggless eggnog (which is non-alcoholic) and my spiced hot chocolate. The eggnog is creamy and lightly spiced without being too sweet, and it comes together in just a few minutes. I love to drink this warm, but it's great cold, too. The hot...
