Getting ready for holiday baking? I’ve got two cookies for you to try!

Hi Reader,

At my house, holiday baking starts with a batch of shortbread. My mom loves to make shortbread for gifts, but we usually make a few early batches for ourselves to test out new flavours.

This week I’m sharing our chocolate shortbread cookies, which are wonderfully crisp and full of chocolate flavour.

I’m also linking our new coconut shortbread cookies recipe, which just might be my favourite cookie of all time. I hope you try making it, it's delicious.

A hand holding a crisp plain potato chip topped with a piece of smoked salmon, a dollop of creme fraiche, and a fresh chive.

Hi Reader, As we get ready to welcome the new year, I wanted to share two easy little treats you can make for New Year’s Eve. The sparkling cranberry punch is festive, refreshing, and alcohol-free. You can make most of it ahead of time, just wait to add the ginger ale until you’re ready to serve. And the potato chip canapés are one of my favourite low-effort appetizers: crisp, salty chips topped with smoked salmon, a little creaminess, and fresh herbs. I imagine they’d be good with champagne,...

A clear glass of frothy eggless eggnog on a fancy coaster.

Hi Reader, My idea of a little treat is a cozy, warm drink. Usually, it's tea that gets me through the workday, but now that I'm taking some time off (FINALLY!), all I want are warm holiday beverages. This week I’m sharing two of my go-to holiday drinks:eggless eggnog (which is non-alcoholic) and my spiced hot chocolate. The eggnog is creamy and lightly spiced without being too sweet, and it comes together in just a few minutes. I love to drink this warm, but it's great cold, too. The hot...
